Robert Tolley

Robert Wesley Tolley, 78, of Smithfield Avenue, died Sunday, February 8, 2004 in Johnston Willis Medical Center in Richmond. He was born in Evergreen, VA and had made his home in Hopewell since 1960. Mr. Tolley was a Deacon Emeritus at Woodlawn Baptist Church, a retired planner and estimator for Allied Chemical Corporation and a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. He was the son of the late George Wesley and Anna Belle Lee Tolley. Mr. Tolley is survived by his wife, Nellie Stevens Tolley, one daughter, Marsha T. Carr, both of Hopewell, two sons, David Wesley Tolley of Charlotte, NC, Steven Lee Tolley of Williamsburg, VA, 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, one sister, Ola T. Maddox of Roanoke, VA and one brother, William Thomas Tolley of Vinton, VA. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 11, 2004 from 6:00 to 8:30PM in Woodlawn Baptist Church where a funeral service will be held Thursday, February 12, 2004 at 11:00AM with the Rev. Kenneth Hendricks, pastor officiating. Interment will be in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, Prince George County. The family is being served by the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
