Robert Cleveland Woodward Sr.

Robert C. Woodward, Sr., 88, of Hopewell, VA., died, Saturday, February 13, 2016.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, William Howard Sr. and Mary Ann Woodward; 1st wife, Eleanor Hyman Woodward and 2nd wife Opal Chatman Woodward.
Mr. Woodward served in the United States Army Air Force, played football for the Old Saltville High School; he was an avid golfer and loved the game. He also enjoyed going to the NASCAR races with his father and friends. He was devout Christian and loved all in the fellowship of The Enon Church of God which he also helped build.
Robert is survived by sons, R. C. Woodward, Jr., and Kevin Mark Woodward; daughters, Sue W. Robertson (John), and Kathi M. McComber (Edward, Jr.); stepson, Jay Chatman (Julia), eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.
The family will receive friends 6:00pm to 8:00pm Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at J. T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home Hopewell Chapel, 820 W. Broadway Hopewell, VA 23860, where a service will be conducted 11:00am Thursday, February 18, 2016. Interment will follow in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens.
