Rodney Lewis Nichols, 61, of Hopewell died Thursday, September 2, 2004 at his residence. He served in the U.S. Army and was a retired operator for Honeywell with 36 years of service. Mr. Nichols was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Graham Nichols. Surviving are his wife, Betty Trueheart Nichols of Hopewell, a son, Stephen Nichols and daughter, Barbara Nichols, one granddaughter, Kasey Gliszczynski all of Chesterfield, a step-son, David Carden of Petersburg, step-grandson Greg Carden of Richmond, his father, Alexander Clifford Nichols, Jr. two brothers, James and Nelson Nichols, all of Rupert, WV., three sisters, Bonnye Parker of Union, WV., Sharon Canterbury of Sink Grove, WV., and Joy Capaldo of Caldwell, WV. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7-8:30 P.M. in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home chapel with Bobby Lane, of First Christian Church, officiating.
