Roger Lane Brown

Roger Lane Brown, 61, of Hopewell, VA., went to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 15, 2017. He is preceded in death by his mother, Helen Brown; brother, Vincent J. Brown; father-in-law, Ronald Lovern; two uncles, Gene Shannon, and Jeffrey Foldesi. Roger graduated from Hopewell High School, worked for the City of Hopewell for 27 years and retired as the Building Code Official. He loved deer hunting at Powell's Creek Hunt Club and being out on the river fishing. Roger also enjoyed taking family trips to various places, especially the beach. He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Brown; son, Vincent Brown and his wife, Madison; daughter, Somer Brown and her boyfriend, John; father, Steve Brown; mother-in-law, Georgia Lovern; two aunts, Callie Shannon and Janie Ramsey; brother-in-law, Steve Lovern; sister-in-law, Becky Stryker, and loving pet Maxwell, as well as multiple other relatives. A Celebration of Life will be held, 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 20, 2017 at J.T. Morriss &Son Funeral Home in Hopewell, VA. Interment will follow in Appomattox Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would like for memorial contributions to be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio St. Suite 500 Chicago, IL 60611.
