Roger Pierce Foxworth

April 18, 1944 — April 28, 2024

Roger Pierce Foxworth, 80, of Hopewell, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pierce Foxworth and Frances Keller Foxworth; his sister, Phyllis Foxworth; and his brother, Glen Foxworth.

Roger graduated from Hopewell High School in 1962. He worked for Bell System/Verizon for almost 39 years. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church where he sang with the choir and also with Praises and The Chesterfield Choral Society. He was a member of police volunteers for the Hopewell Police Department for many years. Roger enjoyed bowling and bowled in the church league for many years. Many other things Roger enjoyed were watching sports, attending many football games for Hopewell High School, as well as many UVA games with his son, long walks, bike rides, camping, and bird watching. He loved God, his church, and his family.

Roger is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Sandra Foxworth; children, Jon-Michael Foxworth (Alicia), Amy Jordan, and Jeffrey Foxworth (Susan); grandchildren, Tyler Jordan, Garet Jordan (Brystal), Rowan Foxworth, Katherine Foxworth, and Gael Foxworth; great-grandchild, Silas Jordan; sister, Sandra Spears (Charles); brother, Dennis Foxworth (Carolyn); numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 3, 2024, from 1:00-2:00 PM, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son, 820 W. Broadway Avenue. A funeral service will be held in the chapel at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Appomattox Cemetery.
