Roger Williams Medlock, 90, of Henrico and formerly of Colonial Heights, VA passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the Hampton VA Medical Center. Born in Providence, RI and raised in Edgefield, SC he was the son of the late Wade Hampton and Maude Irene Hutchinson Medlock He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bonnie H. Medlock; his second wife, Grace B. Medlock; one daughter, Catherine L. Troch; a grandson, Michael W. Troch; and three sisters. Roger was a longtime member of Swift Creek Baptist Church in Colonial Heights. After moving to Richmond, he worshiped at Parham Road Baptist Church. He was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a member of the Paralyzed Veterans of America, the Retirees Association of Mid-Atlantic Chapter of Teamsters 101 and a member of the Edgefield South Carolina Old 96 Genealogical Society. Roger had many passions in life, including his abiding love for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his love of family and friends, steam railroad engines, genealogy, and Civil War History. He is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Mustian and husband, Dr. Edward L. Mustian, III of Richmond; a son-in-law, Michael A. Troch; granddaughter, Tracy Troch Warren; two grandsons, Dr. John Andrew Mustian (Christin) and David A. Mustian (Lauren); six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Robert Medlock (Everlee), James Medlock and Wade Medlock Griffis; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Homes and Crematory, with the Reverend Spencer Dillard, officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2017 at the funeral home.
