Roger Paul Newton Sr.

Roger Paul Newton Sr., 69, of South Chesterfield, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2014. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, and a retired firefighter with the City of Richmond. He is survived by his wife, Frankie Marie Newton; three daughters, Denise F. Hairfield and her husband, Charles, Lelia Marie Mills and her husband, Clifford, and Sherry Lynn Newton; one son, Roger Paul Newton Jr. and his wife, Amber; brother, William St. Clair Newton and his wife, Valerie; and seven grandchildren, Emily, Nick, Elliot, Ian, Emma, Collin, and Isabel. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home; with the funeral service to begin at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pine Grove Baptist Church, Matoaca Rescue Squad, or to the Philips Volunteer Fire Department.
