Roger Spargo

Roger Phillip Spargo, age 74, of Chester, VA died on Sunday, April 29, 2007. He was born in Ducktown, TN the son of the late Mark Hannah Spargo and Minerva Taylor Spargo. Phil was a graduate of Ducktown, TN High school, class of 1950, and the University of Tenessee Knoxville. He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Genevieve Mary Burger Spargo. Mr. Spargo was a resident of Chester for 19 yrs, served his country in the U.S. Navy and retired in 1993 from American Tobacco Company after approximately 20 yrs. His hobbies included golf, boating and fishing. He is survived by his daughters, Vickie Hilliard of Fayetteville, AR and Martie Jean Spargo Campbell of Chester. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at 7 p.m. in the Chesterfield Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Interment will be in Liberty, NC at a later date.
