It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Ronald Joe Chapman, went to be with the Lord on July 7, 2024, at the age of 65. He passed away peacefully in Petersburg, VA.

Ronald Joe Chapman "Ronnie", was born on February 2, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois, to Reaford and Edna Chapman. While he was a truck driver by trade, anybody that knew Ronnie knew that he was a musician at heart.

Ronnie was known for singing and playing Southern Gospel music for The Chapmans. His smooth baritone voice, accompanied by his mastery of the bass guitar and piano, brought pure enjoyment to so many, including his family. He touched the lives of many with his kindness, generosity, and love for the Lord.

Ronnie is survived by his spouse, Charlotte; his two children, Crystal and Cindy; his mother, Edna; his brother, Michael; his nephew, Jordan; his sister, Sherrie; and his sons-in-law, Jason and Harold. Ronnie is also survived by his four grandchildren, Amber, Prysilla, Makayla, and Nicholas; and many other friends and family across the country. He is preceded in death by his father, Reaford; and his older brother, Gene.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 2:00 PM EST, at Walthall Baptist Church. Ronald Joe Chapman will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family is being served by the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
