Ronald Matthew Chiarky

Ronald Matthew Chiarky, 84, of Chester, VA, died June 8, 2023. Born on February 12, 1939, and raised in Hopewell, Virginia; he was preceded in death by his parents Matthew and Freda Chiarky; and his sister, Helen Cross. Ron is survived by his girlfriend of 15 years, Betsy Gibson with daughter, Dallas and granddaughter, Lilliana; daughter, Marcy and husband, Brian Combs; brother, Dennis Chiarky and wife, Alecia; as well as numerous extended family and friends. After graduating high school, Ron started off in the business of school picture photography across Virginia, had a term of service in the National Guard Reserve, then worked in the home improvement business, and landed into a long term career of real estate. He was a member of the NRA and supportive of the 2nd amendment. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family, friends, and favorite furball "Buddy". The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home Hopewell Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel. Interment will follow at Appomattox Cemetery, in Hopewell, VA.
