Ronald Keith Holmstrand, 89, of Disputanta, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022. He was preceded by his parents, Valentine and Gladys Holmstrand and his wife, Jean Holmstrand. Ronald was a talented musician and percussionist who played in the Air Force Big Band, the Richmond Symphony, and the Minnesota Symphony. He was an avid pickleball and tennis player as well as an expert woodworker. He also enjoyed working with remote control airplanes. Ronald was a devoted caregiver who looked after his late wife for nearly a decade when her health was failing. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. Ronald is survived by his sister, Marilyn Hurler; children, Keith Holmstrand (Trina), Blair Holmstrand (Mary), and Laura Dunn (Brack); grandchildren, Rachel Holmstrand (Richard Lopez), Anna Holmstrand, Luke Mire (Brooke), Gwen West (Trey), and Erin Dunn; great grandchild, Kalani Lopez; sister-in-law, Phyllis Brockwell; and other extended family members. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 2, 2023 from 5-7 PM at J.T. Morriss & Son - Petersburg Chapel, 103 S. Adams Street, where a funeral service will be held the following day in the chapel at 10 AM. Interment will be held immediately following the service at Southlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Prince George Emergency Crew, the Disputanta Volunteer Fire Department, or the Newville United Methodist Church.
