Ronald Matthew Jenkins

Ronald Matthew Jenkins, Sr., 71, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2014 at Retreat Hospice Hospital after a short battle with cancer. He was the only child of the late Olin Matthew and Virginia Burnette Jenkins, born in Richmond, Virginia on February 11, 1943. He is survived by three devoted children, Bryan Leslie Jenkins and wife, Diane, Rawn Jenkins Hyatt and husband, Ewing, and Ronald Matthew Jenkins, Jr. (“Bo”) and wife, Dawn; loving grandchildren, Margaret McGee Roman, Ronald Matthew Jenkins III, Elizabeth Christine Jenkins, Rebecca Carr Hyatt, and Elizabeth Ewing Hyatt; and longtime companion, Susie Craig Greenstreet and her family. Ronnie joined the Teamsters Local 592 in 1965. He was elected as Trustee and Business Agent in 1973. Ronnie was elected President and Principal Officer in January of 1979 and served until 2005 at which time he retired. He was an active member of the Teamster Local 592 for 49 years. After retirement, he continued to work part time for Local 592 and continued to serve as a Union Trustee for Teamsters Joint Council Health #83 of Virginia, Welfare and Pension Fund. Ronnie was also a member of the Prince George Masonic Lodge 115. A visitation with Masonic Rites will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 5, 2014 at the funeral home.
