Ronald Wayne King

December 12, 1942 — May 31, 2022

Ronald (Ron) Wayne King peacefully went to be with the Lord on May 31, 2022.

Ron was a devoted husband to Gail King for 54 years. He was a loving father to three children, Keith King (Marjorie) of Columbia, SC, Karen King-Flores of Midlothian, VA, and Cheryl King (Julie) of Ocoee, FL. He's also survived by two younger sisters, Connie Barley of Mineral, VA, and Debra Maher of Baltimore, MA; as well as four grandchildren, Mallory Flores, Laura King, Aaron King, and Noah Hall-King. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Madeline King, as well as sister Carol Hunt.

Ron was born December 12, 1942 in Pulaski, VA. He is a 1966 graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He devoted thirty-five years as an engineer for Allied Chemical, Allied-Signal, Allied General Nuclear Services, and Honeywell prior to his retirement in 1999.

Ron had a creative drive that kept him busy throughout his life. He loved to restore classic cars to enjoy with his family. He had a love of music, in which he played the piano, banjo, and guitar. He was an accomplished, award-winning artist; his creative talent was displayed through the extensive detail in his watercolor paintings. In addition to the fine art pieces that he created, he was commissioned to have his work commercially printed on merchandise, sold in select retailers. Although he will be greatly missed, his legacy shall live throughout his family and the art that he created.
