Ronald Keith Purr, Sr. 61, of Devenwood Avenue, died Monday, May 24, 2004 at his residence. He was born in Martin’s Ferry, Ohio and had been a resident of this area since 1965. Mr. Purr was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of Wesley United Methodist Men’s Club, and a retired carpenter with ELCO Concrete Co., in Richmond. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mary Lou Carpenter Purr. Mr. Purr is survived by his wife, Joyce Franchow Purr; one daughter, Rebecca Leigh Purr; one son, Ronald Keith, Jr. all of Hopewell, special grandchildren, Alex and Carrie Flickinger of Prince George; three brothers, Jack Purr of Pinckney, MI, Gary Purr of Jupiter, FL, Richard Purr of Yorkville, Ohio; a devoted niece, Jeanette Baldwin of Hopewell and several other nieces and nephews. A memorial celebration will be held Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at 7:00 pm in Wesley United Methodist Church with the Rev. Teresa Keezel, pastor officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. Interment will be private.
