Ronald Lloyd Rose, 68, of Wakefield passed away on Friday, January 29, 2010 at his residence. He was the son of the late Charlie and Lydia Childress Rose. He was a member of United Mine Workers in Dickenson County, Virginia and was a coal miner all of his life. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Eslie Hill and brothers, Victor and Clyde Rose.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Janet Kay Rose; sons, Greg Rose and wife, Donna of TN and Chris Rose of Bristol, VA; grandchildren, Matthew and Bethany Rose; brothers, Reed Rose and wife, Terry of Waverly, VA, Allen Rose and wife, Helen of Arlington, TX, Bob Rose and wife, Theresa of Abilene, TX and a sister, Esther Fleming of Summerfield, FL.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Purviance Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home in Wakefield. Burial will follow in Waverly Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your local Rescue Squad. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
