Rosa Bailey

Rosa Finch Bailey, born May 18, 1919, passed away March 30 peacefully at home with her family by her side. She followed her husband of 64 years, Wilson Lee Bailey, in death by 28 days. Rosaâ??s life was defined by her family and her career. Graduating from Petersburg Hospital School of Nursing in 1942 as a Registered Nurse, she spent her working life primarily as an Emergency Room Nurse, Student Health Nurse, and Dorm Mother for the Nursing School. She was the daughter of the late Charlie E. & Effie Louise Poarch Finch. She is survived by son Wade Bailey, daughter and son-in law Susan and Keith Phillips, and grandchildren Carrie, Jeffrey, Stephen, and Len Phillips. She is also survived by sisters Nellie Bryant and Lizzie Williams, sister-in-law Nan Ellen Finch, brothers Taylor, Roy & Joe Finch and their wives, Julie, Peggy & Hilda. A grave side service will be held Monday April 2, 2007 at 11:00 AM in Sunset Memorial Park with a Memorial service to follow at Chester Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Lawrence Chapin officiating.
