Rosa Goodman Brittingham

February 10, 1930 — January 23, 2014

Rosa Goodman Brittingham, 83, of Petersburg, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Dorsey A., Sr. and Mamie Brown Goodman. Rosa was also preceded in death by son, Thomas F. Brooks; sister, Madeline Clements (Cecil), three brothers, Raymond Goodman (Amanda), Dorsey A. Goodman, Jr., and Jimmy Goodman; grandson, Timothy Brooks; nephew, Jimmy Clements; pets, “Missy” and “Tiger”. She graduated from The School for the Deaf & Blind in Staunton, VA. In spite of her being deaf, she worked a full time job and raised three boys. She retired from Brown & Williamson Tobacco Co. after 35 years. In her spare time she loved doing crossword puzzles and watching “soap operas” on TV. She over came so many set backs during her life, now our deaf angel is with God. All services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be donated to Foundation for Sight and Sound, P.O. Box 1245, Smithtown, NY 11787 or your local SPCA. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
