Mrs. Rosa Holland Kendrick, 84, of Hopewell, died, Monday, August 22, 2005 at her home.
She was a member of the Women of the Moose #1180 and a member of Woodlawn Presbyterian Church. She was born in Campbell County, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Elijah Whitt Holland and Helen Hamlett Holland. She is survived by her husband, Archie James Kendrick, Sr; a brother, Whateley M. Holland and wife, Maxine, of Dunsville, VA; two nieces Patricia Wood, and husband, Doug of Newport News, VA and Sharon Bowles of Dunsvillle, VA; a nephew Whateley M. ?Billl? Holland, Jr. of Dunsville; and many great nieces and nephews and one great-great nephew; her husbands children, A.J. Kendrick, Jr. and his wife, Ruth, JoAnn Nye and her husband Ken, Pat Jenkins, and grandchildren, Ann Marie Nye, Wade Nye, Travis Kendrick and Adam Kendrick. A memorial service will be held by the Women of the Moose on Monday, August 29, 2005 at 7 p.m. in the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. The family will receive friends after the service until 8:30 p.m. Interment will be private in Appomattox Cemetery in Hopewell. According to her wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. She wished to be remembered as she lived, not in death. No flowers please.
