Rose C. Brown

Rose C. Brown, 85, of Colonial Heights, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2015 in her son’s home in the company of her family. Born in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mamie Bowles. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Robert E. Brown; brothers, Harry Bowles, Jr. and Ernest Bowles; sisters, Florence Bowman and Beatrice Mizelle. Mrs. Brown was a retired employee of Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company. She had a strong love for her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Keith E. Comer, Sr. and wife, Carolyn; grandchildren, Keith E. Comer, II and wife, Beverly, and Brenda Boardman and husband, Earl; great-grandchildren, Andrew Boardman, Michael Boardman, Jessica Rose Boardman, Alexis Merrill, and Samantha Comer; great-great-grandson, Connor Jay Boardman; step-son, John Brown, wife, Bonnie and family; sister, Mary Boone, five nieces and four nephews. A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 20, at Southlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060. The family is being served by the Petersburg Chapel of J.T.
