Rose Whipple

Rose Marie Whipple, 55, of Hopewell, died, Tuesday, March 30, 2004, in Johnston-Willis Medical Center. She was born in Hopewell, Va. and had been a life-long resident. Mrs. Whipple was a Sgt. at Securitas Security. She was predeceased by her father, Douglas Johnson. Surviving are her husband, Gregory Allan Whipple of Hopewell, three sons, Kelvin Johnson, of Leesburg, Va., Ronald Johnson of Fayetteville, NC, Peter Markham, Jr. of Hopewell, a daughter, Sharon Marie Crockett of Hopewell, two step-daughters, Crystal Elizabeth Whipple and Cheryl Lynn Whipple both of Dinwiddie, seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, her mother, Thelma Powell Johnson, two brothers, Douglas Johnson and Raymond Johnson, and a sister Carlene Mason all of Hopewell. The family will receive friends Thursday evening April 1.2004 from 7-8:30 PM at the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 3, 2004 at 2PM at the funeral homel chapel with the Rev. Curtis Harris, pastor of Union Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in the Appomattox Cemetery.
