Roselyn Mayes Talbott

January 12, 1926 — May 30, 2015

Roselyn Mayes Talbott, of Colonial Heights, formerly of Petersburg died Saturday, May 30, 2015. She was born on January 12, 1926 to the late Thomas Travis and Lottie Collier Mayes and was the youngest of nine children and the last survivor of her siblings. Mrs. Talbott was preceded in death by her husband, Royal Marshall Talbott. She was born and raised in Petersburg and was a lifelong, active member of Second Presbyterian Church until her declining health. Mrs. Talbott is survived by her daughters, Marsha T. Wallace (Jay) of Buford, GA and Denise T. Hargrave (Samuel) of Chester, VA; three grandchildren, Melissa W. Goetz (Allen) of Murfreesboro, TN, Susan E. Hargrave of Richmond, VA, and Samuel E. Hargrave, III of Arlington, VA; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home on Monday, June 1, 2015. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Blandford Cemetery in Petersburg at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Second Presbyterian Church, 401 W. Washington St., Petersburg, VA 23803. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
