Roy Bishop

Roy Francis Bishop, 87, of Hopewell died Wednesday, July 7, 2004. He was born in East Radford, VA and had been a life long resident of this area. Mr. Bishop was a member of DuPont Lodge #289 AF & AM, and was a retired machinist from Brown & Williamson Tobacco Co. in Petersburg. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Nellie Hancock Bishop. Mr. Bishop is survived by his wife of 66 years, Loveday Sweet Bishop of Hopewell, one daughter, Carole B. Lyman of Matoaca, one son, Blake Bishop and his wife Marguerite of Prince George, 4 grandchildren, Michael Lyman, James Lyman, Michelle Lyman, T.R. Brockwell, 8 great grandchildren, Nicole Lyman, Jennifer Lyman, Victoria Lyman, Ashley Lyman, Tiffani Lyman, Matthew Lyman, Brandon Lyman, and Bradley Brockwell, two sisters, Mary Lee B. Johnson and Elizabeth Gleason, both of Hopewell. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 8, 2004 from 7:00 to 8:30PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Friday, July 9, 2004 at 10:00AM in Appomattox Cemetery with Bobby Lane of the First Christian Church officiating.
