Roy Boyer

Roy Lynn Boyer, 78, of Chester, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2011 after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Dickerson Run, PA. He was a graduate of West Virginia University with a degree in Forestry, served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, the owner of AB Appraisals, Inc, a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose #1472, and the Colonial Heights Senior Golfing Association. Roy was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who had many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Roy D. and Flora Lynn Boyer and a sister Dora Lee Tosh. He was married to his wife, Alice Boyer, for over 52 years; a proud father to Jeffrey Boyer, Kevin Boyer and his wife Cindy of Chester, Michele Cobb and her husband Mike of Prince George; and a loving grandfather to Adam Boyer, Shannon Boyer, Ryan Boyer, and Ben Barbour. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 pm Sunday, March 13, 2011 at the Hopewell chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11am Monday, March 14, 2011 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Pat Elder of Bethlehem Congregational Church, officiating.
