Roy Cecil Gillenwater, 61, of McKenney, passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Audrey Childress and David Jefferson Gillenwater; father in-law, Paul Gerhardt Mueller. He is survived by his loving wife, Willette C. Gillenwater; sisters, Deborah Miles, and Carolyn Osborne; aunts, Enga Stanley (Harold), and Shirley Childress; mother in-law, DeNolda Mueller; brother and sister in-laws, Paul Mueller (Teresa), Irma Rodriguez (Norbert), Paulette Castillo (Joe), Kenneth Mueller (Rhonda), Victoria Jurgensen (Eric), Kathleen Dunn (Charles), and Michelle Narron (Dewain); and many other cousins; nieces; and nephews. Roy was a kind and loving man, with a simple and easy going spirit. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at the Dinwiddie chapel of the J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 6616 Boydton Plank Rd, Where friends and family will gather between 10 to 10:30am on Friday, September 7, 2018, to go to Southlawn Memorial Park for an 11am graveside service. In-lieu of flowers donations may be made to the SPCA or the ASPCA. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
