Roy Agie Mullins, 74, went to be with the Lord on December 2, 2018 at his home in Church Road, VA after fighting a difficult battle with cancer. Born in Buchannan Co., VA he was the son of the late Haze and Goldie Mullins. Roy was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a friend to all who knew him. Roy had a passion for his country and served it well by devoting 21 years in the United States Army, retiring in 1982. Upon his retirement from the Army he went on to work in the construction industry for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending countless hours with his grandchildren. Roy is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Carol Mullins, whom he affectionately referred to as his “Cupcake”; two daughters, Teresa Brockwell (John) of Petersburg and Amy Lambert (P.D.) of Church Road; and two devoted grandchildren, Caitlin Brockwell of Richmond and Jimmy Piccolo of Dinwiddie. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment with full military honors will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia, 10300 Pridesville Rd., Amelia Court House, VA 23002. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 2151, Memphis, TN 38101 in memory of Roy Mullins.
