Roy B. Pugh departed this life on June 9, 2009, at Southside Regional Medical Center. He was born March 13, 1929, in Missouri. Roy was preceded in death by his father, Roy B. Pugh, his mother Emily Ellard, his wife of 29 years, Juanita K. Pugh and a brother, Ken Ellard. He leaves to cherish his memory three children, Sue Sisson and husband Jimmy, of Oliver Springs, TN; Roy B. Pugh, III and wife Julie; Denise Jernigan and husband Mike all of Prince George; three grandchildren Cindy Bias and husband Don of Oliver Springs, TN; Ford Pugh and Philip Pugh both of Prince George and three great-grandchildren Matthew, Nicole and Emily Bias of Oliver Springs, TN. Roy retired from the U. S. Army with 21 years of military service after serving in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Upon his military retirement, Roy attended John Tyler Community College where he became a machinist and became employed by American Filtrona. He then became a teacher at Hopewell High School and retired in 1984. In 1980 Roy opened R & R Machine Shop. He was a Master Mason for 44 years. Nobel Roy was a member of the Hopewell Shrine Club and also a member of the Hopewell Moose Lodge. The family will receive friends at the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home on Thursday, June 11, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm with a Masonic service at 7:00 p.m. A graveside service with military honors will be held at10:00 am on Friday, June 12, 2009 at Southlawn Memorial Park.
