Roy Harold Smith

Roy Harold Smith, 81, died peacefully on Monday morning, October 13, 2014. Roy was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was an active member of the Prince George Masonic Lodge #115 A.F. & A.M., and a former member of the Prince George Fire Department. He also was a member of Waverly Baptist Church. Roy retired from A.H. Robins Company in 1990. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Florrie Sumner Smith; his first wife and love of his life, Faye Spraker Smith; and his second wife, Faye Eason Smith. Roy is survived by his son, James N. Smith and wife, Kathy; daughter, Teresa S. Bales and husband, Donald (Butch); his grandson, Jason D. Smith and wife, Jillian; step-granddaughter, Kati Pond; and his special friend, Pat Weaver. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, VA.
