William Roy Smith, II, 24, of Petersburg, passed away Monday, January 21, 2008. Roy graduated from Christchurch School in Christchurch, Virginia in 2002, received his Associates Degree from Richard Bland College in 2005, and was currently a student at Christopher Newport University. He was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents, William Roy and Virginia Brown Smith. He is survived by his father, R. Blackwell Smith; his mother, Peggy Ann Gillespie Smith; maternal grandparents, Clarence R., Sr. and Charlotte T. Gillespie; an aunt, Virginia Lee Smith; uncles, Robert Worthington Nunnally Smith and wife, Patricia, and Clarence R. Gillespie, Jr. and wife, Kathy. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, January 23, at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, at Blandford Cemetery with The Very Reverend Marjorie Bevans officiating.
