Rozelia Buchanan

Rozelia W. Buchanan, of Hopewell, VA, age 85, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2023. Born in Lunenburg County, VA, on March 23, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Nathaniel White and Marie Peluso White.
Roze enjoyed telling funny stories of her youth, traveling, and working in the yard. She had two green thumbs when it came to her beautiful flowers.
The light of her life was her granddaughter, Renzi, whom she affectionately called her angel child. Roze was a member of First Christian Church, in Hopewell, VA.
Surviving Roze are her daughter, Robin Smith (Larry), of Henrico, VA; granddaughter, Renzi Smith (fiancé USCG Ted Forgan), of St. Louis, MO; three nieces, Karan Richardson, of Henderson, NC, Joy Lynch, of Henderson, NC, and Scarlet Davis, of Henderson, NC.
Roze was preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Giroux; sister, Angelia Dames; and brother, Robert "Bobby" White.
Thank you to her wonderful neighbors and friends over the years that gave her a helping hand.
A special thank you to Robin Mayne, Rochelle Tucker, her caregivers, Sara, Kristen, and Cherelle with Heartland Hospice, and her friend, Tammy Fleming, for taking such good care of Mom, we are forever grateful.
The family is being served by the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 820 W. Broadway Avenue, Hopewell, VA. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 11:00 am, at Appomattox Cemetery, 703 N 21st Street, Hopewell, VA. A luncheon will be held immediately following the service at First Christian Church, 203 N 11th Avenue, Hopewell, VA.
