Ruben Rudolph "Rudy" Morgan

Ruben Rudolph “Rudy” Morgan passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 3, 2017. Rudy was predeceased by his mother, Edith Marie and father, Clifford Edward Sr.; as well as his brothers, Clifford, (Jr.), Joseph (Jo), and Howard (“Buddy”). His surviving family includes his brother, Dicky and his sisters, Shirley and Barbara. Rudy was married to Alice Lum Morgan who died in 2014 after 63 years of marriage. Surviving Rudy and Alice is their son, Glen, daughter-in-law, Sandi and grandson, Mathew. Rudy was a self-employed roofing contractor for over 53 years. He was also in the Naval Reserves for 30 years and experienced one year of active duty during the Cuban missile crises. In 1975, Rudy was selected as Naval Reservist of the year. Rudy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His compassion for others was extraordinary and he will be greatly missed. Glen, Sandi and Mathew will receive friend from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Sons Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2017 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, Virginia.
