Rubie Thore Coleman, 84 of Hopewell went to be with the Lord Thursday, October 20, 2005 in John Randolph Nursing Home. Mrs. Coleman was born in Jetersville, VA and had been a resident of the Hopewell area for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she sang with the Singing Saints, was a member of Eastern Star Adah Chapter #7 having served as the Worthy Matron, was a past president of WMU, and taught Sunday School at Woodlawn Baptist Church. Mrs. Coleman was predeceased by her parents, Thomas Jefferson & Sarah Eliza Mickey Thore, a son, James David Kirksey, 5 brothers, Clifton Thore, Jack Thore, Oscar Thore, Arthur Thore, and Thurman Thore, 2 sisters, Margaret Kidd & Elsie Lumpkin. She is survived by her husband Ned M. Coleman, a step-son William M. Coleman and his wife Alice, one brother, George Thore and his wife Peggy, a daughter-in-law, Hazel Kirksey all of Hopewell, 3 grandchildren, Keith Kirksey, Thomas Kirksey and Kelly Kirksey, 5 great grandchildren, Dustin Kirksey, David Kirksey, Falleta Kirksey, Joshua Kirksey and Jefferson Kirksey and a number of nieces and nephews. An Order of Eastern Star service will be held Monday, October 24, 2005 at 7:00 P.M. in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service with visitation to follow until 9:00 P.M. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at 2 p.m. in First Baptist Church, Hopewell. Interment will follow in Bermuda Memorial Park. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
