Ruby S. Vlk, of Hopewell, VA passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2010 after a period of declining health. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter L. Vlk, Sr. Mrs. Vlk was born in Petersburg on January 22, 1922 to the late Willie Clarence and Nellie Gray Stywater. Leaving to cherish her memory is one son, Walter L. Vlk and wife, Mary of Pink Hill, NC; daughters, Joeann Snow of Knoxville, TN, Carol Archer of Sussex Co, Doris (Bernadette) Worley and husband, James (Tom) of Sussex Co., Sherry Dingas and husband, Larry of Prince George Co., Linda Mabe of Dolphin and Mary Stanley and husband, Larry of Hopewell, also surviving are eighteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; one sister, Frances Wolfrey of Sussex Co. The family will receive friends Monday, February 1, 2010 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service from 6-8 pm. Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at Blandford Cemetery.
