Russell H. Boyd Sr., 94, of Chester, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 22, 2013. He was a member of Life Church in Colonial Heights, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Disabled American Veterans. Mr. Boyd was a Veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps and served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II as an Airplane Mechanic and Instructor. He was a retired toolmaker with Steelcase Office Furniture. Mr. Boyd was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Samuel and Alice Dunshee Boyd; his son, Russell H. Boyd Jr.; and siblings, Lawrence Boyd, Francis Boyd, Robert Boyd, and Grace Boyd-Goble. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Agnes L. Boyd of Chester; son, Richard L. Boyd Sr. and his wife, Ellie of Chester; Ronald Boyd of Huntsville, AL; and E. Raymond Boyd of Blanchard, MI; nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews; and other loving family and friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Michigan.
