Russell James Mabus

Russell James Mabus, 58, of Chester, VA passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022. Born in Sacremento, California he was the son of the late Gordon and Earla Stanger Mabus; and was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Earla Stanger; and an uncle, Richard Stanger. Russell loved to go fishing, and spending time at gunshows and auctions. He is survived by his brother, Kevin Mabus; his uncle, Paul Stanger; his cousin, Sally Smith (Mark) and her daughter, Brittney Magness (Cody). The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family requests no formal dress, please wear you best 'Russ style' outfits and come casual! In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Backpacks for The Homeless RVA drive.
