Ruth Talley Coleman

COLEMAN, Ruth Talley, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died Monday, November 23, 2015, at the age of 90. Born December 14, 1924 in Lunenburg Co., VA, she was the daughter of Floyd David and Inez Bowman Talley. Ruth graduated from Victoria High School in 1940 and married R. Dillard Coleman in 1945. From 1998 to 2008, she served as a hospital volunteer in both Farmville and Hopewell, VA. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Dillard. She is survived by four children, Judith Seaby of Baltimore, MD; Carol Adcock (husband Robert) of Conway, AR; Charles Alan Coleman of Columbia, MD; Paula McDonough of Chester, VA; four grandchildren, Hillary Adcock Wren, Kimberly Seaby Smith, Ashton Adcock, Kristen Seaby; two great-grandchildren, Jakob and Dylan Smith. Funeral service will be held Friday at 3:00 p.m., at West Hopewell Presbyterian Church, 2602 Wise Street. Family will receive friends immediately following service. Graveside service will be on Saturday, at 1:00 p.m., at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Burkeville, VA.
