Ruth Frances Burrow Figg, 94, of Prince George, VA, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023. Born in Prince George County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Henry and Ladye Warren Burrow; and was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, Kenneth Leslie Figg, Jr.; three sisters, Jennie B. Hedgepeth, Sue B. Hohman and Katherine B. Tompkins; and six brothers, Aubrey H. Burrow, Joseph H. Burrow, John Wesley Burrow, Waverly H. Burrow, Willie E. Burrow and Edwin W. Burrow. Mrs. Figg held several administrative positions at law offices and civil service positions at Fort Lee prior to her retirement in 1988. She was a member of the church choir and the Women's Circle at Gregory Memorial Presbyterian Church in Prince George. She loved spending time with her family, gardening, painting, flower arranging and crafting. She also enjoyed beach trips with family and friends. She will be remembered by her family as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Mrs. Figg is survived by her three daughters, Susan Figg Partin, Betty Figg Johnson (John) and Barbara Gayle Figg; three grandsons, Bolling Partin III, Christopher Johnson (Tanisha) and Stephen Partin; one granddaughter, Jennifer Johnson; four great-grandchildren, Bolling "Stone" IV and Calla Partin, and Aiden and Ava Johnson; one sister, Helen B. Adams; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the many kind and caring staff from Petersburg Home for Ladies. There are too many names to list. Not only did they provide exceptional care for our mother, they also provided exceptional care for our family during her transition. The family would also like to thank Kara Partin for her many years of care and companionship for both of our parents. Lastly, a special thanks to At Home Care & Hospice for the love and care shown to Mrs. Figg. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Newville United Methodist Church, 9010 Hines Rd., Disputanta, VA 23842 with the Reverends Gibby Elder and Gary Denette officiating. Entombment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Rd., S. Prince George, VA 23805. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 103 S. Adams St., Petersburg, VA 23803.
