Ruth Skelton Phillips

Ruth Skelton Phillips, 94, widow of E. Plummer Phillips, Jr, died Wednesday, March 9, 2016. A native of Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late Bessie Pulley Skelton and Robert Frank Skelton. She was a retired employee of C & P Telephone Co. of VA and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Phillips Mason and her husband, Dr. Joseph T. Mason of Charlottesville, VA; two granddaughters, Sara Phillips Mason of Charlottesville, VA and Kate Walsh Mason and her husband, Andrew Lawrence Schechter of Brooklyn, NY. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2016 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Blandford Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Gerald Miller officiating.
