Ruth Virginia Rice

Ruth Virginia Rice, 82, of Hopewell, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Herbert L. and Lilly Daniel Turner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Rice; brothers, Danny Turner Sr., Dick Turner, Lawrence Edward; son, Timothy Lee Rice; sisters, Katherine McDaniels, Lilly Mae Joyner, Hattie Lee Daniels, Lucy Foster, and Lois Vanmeter. She is survived by her daughters, Gail Halloway and Linda Faye Ruiz (Larry); son, Jimmy Rice, Jr.; brother, Johnny Turner (Laura); grandchildren, Roger Williams, Jr., David Williams (Sheila), Michael Williams (Samantha), Shana Wallace (Wesley), Lauren Ruiz, Jimmy Rice, III, Joann Davis, Teresa Wilkerson, Tommy Hutchinson, and Susie Aultman; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 8 at 2:00pm in Appomattox Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at 3807 Libby Ave, Hopewell, VA 23860.
