Ruth Stafford

Ruth Joyce Stafford, 84, a former resident of Hopewell, died , Wednesday, December 8, 2004 in Lawton, Oklahoma. She was born in Stuart, Va. and had spent most of her life in Hopewell until moving to Oklahoma seven years ago to be with her daughter and family. Mrs. Stafford was a member of West End Presbyterian Church. She was predeceased by her parents, Aubrey and Sarah Plaster Joyce, and her husband, Virgil Ray Stafford. Surviving are her daughter, Brenda S. Scarborough, three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren all of Lawton, Oklahoma, her sister, Ethel J. Quick of Hopewell, Virginia. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2004 at 2 P.M. in the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, with the Rev. Troy Kaichen, officiating.
