Ruth Anne Wilcox-Jaszewski, 71, of Chester, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2015. On October 24, 1943 an angel came into this world, her name was Ruth Anne. Her life was to be varied and exciting. Several bouts with meningitis thrust her into her treasured career, teaching fitness, her passion. In 2001 this came to an abrupt end when family matters intervened. She then moved to Virginia. She worked for West End Orthopedics/Ortho Virginia for eleven years, during that time she met Tom, her future husband. Another adventure was beginning. As with any relationship there were ups and downs. But she remained true to her favorite cliché, FROG, which she would always happily proclaim means “Fully Rely On God”, which she did fervently. Tragedy was about to strike again when in late September 2014 she was diagnosed with ALS, a most dreaded disease. Her case was to be one of the most aggressive ever observed by anyone who treated her. And very unfortunately it claimed her life at 3:15 a.m. on January 25, 2015; she will be sorely missed by all her friends and family. She is survived by her husband Tom; her son Ronnie Roy and his wife Lisa and their sons Nick and Jevic; her daughter Rhonda Roy Gallager and her husband Mike; daughter Reneé Flynn and her daughters Jen and Megan; sister Fran Holt; brother Ray Foster; a special friend Mary Heinemann; and many friends and coworkers. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2015 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Four Mile Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Sam Grozdanov officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association, 1275 K Street NW, Suite 250, Washington D.C. 20005. Condolences may be registered online at
