Sabrina Marie Young, 57, of Dinwiddie, VA, earned her angel wings on May 22, 2024. She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Judson Leach; her mother, Jacquelyn Elise Barron Leach Dietz; and her stepfather, Joseph H. McGee III.
She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Mark Ryder Young; her son, Nicholas Judson Tanner and his wife Brittany; her daughter, Lisa Marie Young; her cherished grandchildren Makayla Kay and Benjamin Frederick Tanner; her stepmother, Sandra Douglass McGee; her sisters (the remaining Charlie's Angels), Christine Therese Lynch (Steve) and Alicia Kay Kiel (Gary); her beloved niece, Randi Sierra Williams, and nephews, Sean Gregory Gillihan and Luke Anthony Williams.
Sabrina was born in Denver, CO. As the daughter of a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army, she lived in Colorado, North Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Missouri, and California before settling back in Virginia. After graduating from Petersburg High School in 1985, her passion for cooking drove her to attend culinary school at Johnson and Wales. Using the skills she learned, along with her outgoing personality and hard-working, can-do attitude, she successfully ran Leonardo's Deli and Café with her father in Old Town Petersburg for nearly 10 years.
In addition to cooking and baking, Sabrina enjoyed lifting spirits and spreading happiness, caring for her plants, gardening and yardwork, preserving her youth with her grandbabies, summers spent in her pool, bonfires, drinking a cold Miller Lite, and cuttin' a rug with her friends. Her favorite sayings were "if you're scared say you're scared" and "say what you mean and mean what you say" and she truly lived by those words.
She was as vivacious and free spirited as they come and there will never be another like her. Sabrina's infectious laughter, gracious smile, warm heart, and unwavering zest for life touched everyone she met.
A memorial service will be held to honor her on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 11:00 am, at the Mausoleum at Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Rd, Petersburg, VA 23805.
