Sadie Callis

Sadie Marie Overby Callis, 104, died December 31, 2004 in Walnut Hills Convalescent Center. Mrs. Callis was born in Petersburg, a daughter of the late Louis J. and Lula Overby. Preceded in death by her husband,; Bernard Joseph Callis, Sr., she will be greatly missed by 6 grandchildren, Carolyn Brainard, James Callis, Bruce J. Callis, Sr., Terry Callis, Bobby Callis, Debbie Spence, a devoted daughter-in-law, Virginia Callis Trent, 9 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 11 AM on Monday, January 3rd (which would have been her 105th birthday) in Blandford Cemetery with Brother John Tillett officiating. The family will receive friends at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Sunday from 7 to 8:30 PM.
