Sally Murty Bedwell

Sally Murty Bedwell, 75, of Hopewell, passed away on May 5, 2017. Born in Chester, VA she was the daughter of the late Clifford Eugene Murty and Nellie Askew Murty. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Loving. She is survived by her husband, Franklin Wayne Bedwell; daughter, Kelly Martin; son, Richard Shawn Bedwell; grandchildren, Mary Katherine Bedwell, Erika Lynn Bedwell, Nellie Martin and Sallie Martin; siblings, Mary Milatios and Clifford Eugene Murty, Jr. Sally was employed with C & P Telephone Co. retiring after many years of service. She founded Hopewell Preservation and was instrumental in reviving the Beacon Theatre. Sally was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Hopewell. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at First United Methodist Church, 502 W. Broadway Hopewell, VA 23860.
