Samuel “Sammy” Powell Archer, Jr., of Chesterfield, passed away Friday, January 10, 2020. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Pauline Oliver Archer; brother, Boe Archer and sister, Brenda Wilson. Sammy was a devoted husband and father who worked for Philip Morris, USA, for 34 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Lois Payne Archer; daughter, Cindy Lou Council; son, Sammy Carroll Archer; 2 stepchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 5 step great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Janet Huff and Barbara Talbott. The family will receive friends at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son on Wednesday, January 15, 2020, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your local animal shelter in memory of Sammy.
