Samuel Tharp

Samuel Thomas Tharp Jr., 85, of Chester, VA, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011. He was born in Sampson County, NC, the son of the late Samuel T. Tharp Sr. and Mary Ward. Bob was the owner of Top Auto Sales in Petersburg and a 30 year member of the Matoaca Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Brenda; children, Sandy Bishop, Patsy Coghill, Tammie Bowman, Ashley Marshall, Keith Harris, Andrea Vogel; grandchildren, Michael Bishop, Trent Tucker, Crystal Mlezcynski, Landon Tucker, Earl Thomas Bowman, Jessie Bowman, Brooke Harris, Skyler Vogel, Thomas Marshall, Chelsea Harris, Sophia Vogel; great-grandchildren, Hunter Mlezcynski, Brady Tucker, Seth Mlezcynski, Aidyn Tucker, Eli Tucker, Ellie Mlezcynski, and Jack Kancler; sisters, Thelma Lane of NC, and Mary Haskett of TX; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 4, 2011 from 1 to 2 p.m. with services to follow at 2:00 at the Chester chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester.
