Sandra England

England, Sandra Shields, 79, of Chester sadly passed away on March 1, 2024. She was born on May 28, 1944 to Leslie and Zuliene Shields in Baltimore, Maryland. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, her sister and brother in law, as well as her husband of 57 years. She is survived by her two children, Matt England (Liz) and Kimberly Assenmacher (Dre); and six grandchildren, Andrew, Joe, and Sally England, and Chase, Addison, and Cole Assenmacher.

Sandra worked at the Defense General Supply Center for many years before working in other administrative roles and volunteering with her children's PTA's and sports programs. She also loved to crochet and read endless books. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who was always there when we needed her and will be greatly missed.

A private service will be held followed by interment at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia. In lieu of flowers, a contribution can be made to the charity of your choosing.
