Sandra "Sandy" Mae Adams

Sandra "Sandy" Mae Adams, 62, of Chesterfield, VA, went home to Heaven, on August 28, 2024. Born in Richmond, VA, to Emily Adams and the late James Adams. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Sandy grew up in Virginia, but also spent time in Florida and Texas. She was particularly fond of her time in Florida, where she made life-long friends. 

While there, she was taught to play piano by her second mother, the late Beatrice "Irene" Grizzle. She used this talent and love of piano to proudly serve their church as the pianist at the young age of 13. 

She retired from Dominion Energy after 28 years of service. Her favorite past times include painting, playing rummy, going on family vacations to Emerald Isle, listening to music, and any opportunity to spend time with loved ones. Sandy was affectionately known by many nicknames, but most knew her as "Giggles" because of her infectious laugh. Her wild sense of humor was truly a gift she shared with everyone, and will leave a lasting memory on all of us.

She is survived by her mother, Emily Adams; and three children, Tanya Smith (Michael), Casey Spence (Eric), and Kelsey Markins (Brandon); as well as, her grandchildren, Dylan, Mya, Rachel, Derrick, Callie, and Ellie; and brothers, James "Tom" Adams, Randy Adams, and Carlton Adams. Additional surviving family members include her several nieces and nephews. 

A funeral service will be held at 10am, on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 6pm-8pm, on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the funeral home.
