Sara Ann Susman Cohen

Sara Ann Susman Cohen, 89, of Petersburg, VA, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023. Born in Greensboro, NC she was the daughter of the late Macey and Roselea Hayes Susman; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Alvin Cohen; and her brother, David Susman. Mrs. Cohen was an active member of the Southside Virginia Chapter of the American Needlepoint Guild having served in many different capacities over the years. She is survived by her four children, Carol Robin Cohen, Michael Robert Cohen, Jeryl Susan Cohen and Barry Alan Cohen and his wife, Joy; two grandchildren, Abby Brooke Cohen and Macey Beth Cohen; and one sister, Jacque Rosenmarkle. All services will be private. The family is being served by the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your local Humane Society or to the Southside Virginia Chapter of the American Needlepoint Guild in memory of Sara Cohen.
