Sara Jane Jones

Sara Jane Jones, 68, of Prince George, VA passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2021. Born in Hopewell, VA she was the daughter of the late Richard and Golda Kansas Shaw Sylvester. Mrs. Jones had been the owner and operator of Snippers Hair Salon in Prince George for 24 years. She was a dedicated member of Oakland Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. Jane was a talented crafter making quilts, jewelry and clothing. Later in life, she became a talented painter, and found joy painting in her “Painter’s Paradise”. Jane had a deep love for animals and people, always greeting them with hugs, and never met a stranger. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, especially to Hillsville, VA where she enjoyed reminiscing about times of her childhood and memories of her grandmother. Jane will be remembered by her family as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert “Bob” F. Jones, II; her children, Glenn Burton and wife, Kristin, Paul Burton and wife, Jennifer, Robert F. Jones, III and wife, Emily and Bethany Aslett; ten grandchildren; four siblings, Richard Wayne Sylvester who was her twin, Helen W. Thomas and husband, Howard, Sandra Burgess and Rocky Sylvester and wife, Connie; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Oakland Baptist Church, Disputanta, VA with the Rev. Lee Woodcock, officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The family is being served by the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Homes and Crematory.
