Sarah Armistead

Sarah Amburn Armistead, 78 of Franklin St., Hopewell, died, Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at her residence. She was born in Pulaski, Virginia and had been a resident of this area since 1955. Mrs. Armistead was retired accountant with civil service at Ft. Lee. She was predeceased by her parents, Robert M. (Sr.) and Dorothy Whitmire Amburn, and her husband, Henry Lewis Armistead. Surviving are her son Dr. David Morris Armistead and his wife Sharon, of Sudbury, MA. two sisters, Dorothy A. Price of Macon, Ga., and Kathleen A. Wolfrey of Prince George, Va. a brother, William J. Amburn of Newport News, and several nieces and nephews. The family would greatly acknowledge the contributions of her niece, Tammy Price and her caregiver Jameela Wilson both of Hopewell. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7-8:30 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 29, 2004 at 10AM in Hopewell funeral chapel with the Rev. Graham Patterson, of Crater Community Hospice officiating. Interment will be in Bermuda Memorial Park, Chester, Va.
